If you say Macs are not PCs, you are a dumbass.
Do you know what PCs are? Personal Computers. Do you know what doesn't count as a personal computer?
| This is ONE computer. |
And it used 5 foot long tubes filled with mercury as memory. LEARN SHIT. So no; it's not Mac vs PC, it's Mac vs Windows.
I'd rather not have a computer than use any machine running any Mac OS, but that's just me. Mostly because I don't want to be associated with the AppleTards. What's an AppleTard you ask? A fanboy. One who:
- aggressively defends against logic
- thinks their product is the end all solution
- extremely closed minded
- can not handle criticism
- is generally annoying
And here's what I think about Apple, they're:
- overpriced
- shit at naming things
- reiterating too many times (what's next, iPad super mini? iPadPod?)
- shit at marketing (I'm not their demographic, so I say it's shit marketing)
- did I say overpriced?
Oh yay, another rant topic! Prebuilt vs Customs!
Another thing! They're marketed towards the kids that want to be unique. Answer me this, if you and all the other "unique" kids have a $2,000 iMa-wait a minute, those aren't hip anymore!-MacBook Pro, are you unique? No, you're a sheep. Build your own shit. Yes, there are custom laptop vendors. No, they aren't common, but if you really want to be your own special little snowflake, find one.
The other marketing scam is that Apple products are for the artsy fartsy type. Oh really?
"Yeah man, Final Cut is sooo good!" We have Sony Vegas, sup?
"Okay then, we have Garage Band!" And we have Fruity Loops. Problem?
"Uhh.... Gimp?" Yeah we actually have that too. We can also use Photoshop.
"Well Macs don't get viruses!" You're lucky I didn't slap you mid sentence. According to the picture below, only 11% of PC (Personal Computer) sales are Macs. Why would anyone want to waste time on developing a virus for 11% of the market, other than to prove that it can be done? There ARE viruses for Macs, just very few.

You're just buying the brand and the glowing logo on the lid.
There's a reason people use Windows and Linux more than Mac OS for industry work, server hosting, etc... because they're better for that thing.
You can't customize a Mac outside of Apple's site. You can't upgrade it yourself. Mac OS is locked in for a specific architecture, one specified by Apple. You're buying into a dictatorship, yet you said you wanted to be an individual. Good luck with that!
On the other hand, Windows has its fair share of problems as well. In my opinion, Metro is a terrible way to go and I feel Microsoft is abandoning its keyboard and mouse users. Ever see a mouse or keyboard in a Windows 8 commercial? I haven't. If you have, link it in a comment! Metro is marketed for touch screens, and touch screens only. I also like my start button. It's always been there for me!
We have a plethora of virii, backwards compatibility issues, blue screens, and the like. But we also have more games than you Mac users. "Well I can just install Windows using bootcamp!" It's called partitioning, alright? Stop using fucking stupid names for things. And even then, you're not using Mac! You're using Windows! Case in point.
BUT WAIT! (there's more!)
I get it. Apple is a business, and they're just doing what makes them money. And you're letting them eat your wallets.
Personally, if more games and some familiar software (Sony Vegas, FL Studio, etc) were ported to use on say... Ubuntu, or if you're a diehard, some hardcore Linux distro... then I'd switch over to Linux and just have Windows on another partition just in case something required Windows.
So no, I'm not a Windows fanboy. Windows just works for me, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper and less snobby than any Apple product ever. I'm just the deliverer of facts.
And if I seem biased, well, maybe I am. I have been using Windows for ~17 years out of my 19 year life span, after all.
