As a warning, I'm going to say that this might turn into a rant about consoles in general. But be reasonable! They're easy targets!

Average fanboy

These are the kinds of people that, no matter how much logic you throw at them, they believe what they want.

The type of person who always believe theirs is better than anything else.

The type of person that never studies the competition.

The type of person who brushes away facts as if they were dust on their shirt.

Console fanboys.

AC3 and the Gaming Rig

I'm going to preface this by saying I don't have the best rig out there, but it's pretty meaty for what it's worth. It can run PlanetSide 2 on near max settings at 1920x1080 while always maintaining above 40fps, even in large scale warfare. About $900 if I didn't buy things on sale ($50 for a $200 mobo, yeah!)

Failed Grammar and Punctuation

We should all know this little gem:

"There's a difference between "i helped my uncle jack off his horse", and "I helped my uncle, Jack, off his horse."

If you can't see the difference, then there's either no hope for you or English isn't your first language. And I sincerely hope it's the latter.

Grammar is an extremely important part of daily lives, and some (well, a lot of internet dwellers) of you think that grammar isn't something to pay attention to on the internet. "BT ITS THE INTERNT NT SKOOL"

PC vs Mac

I'm going to preface this by giving this little tidbit of information...
If you say Macs are not PCs, you are a dumbass.

Do you know what PCs are? Personal Computers. Do you know what doesn't count as a personal computer?

This is ONE computer.

And it used 5 foot long tubes filled with mercury as memory. LEARN SHIT. So no; it's not Mac vs PC, it's Mac vs Windows.

Update 1 on Ubisoft Hate

"We’re definitely supporting PC," said the game’s creative director, Alex Hutchinson to Gamespy. "We love PC, but I think it’ll be PC with a controller. I don’t see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin’s Creed, you have a controller." - lazygamer.net

AAAANNNND another reason Ubisoft can go suck a dick. "Yeah we're just gonna port this shit over and give it to you as is, maaaaybe a resolution option or two.. but really, screw you PC market."

I'm so glad I have exclusives like PlanetSide 2, EVE, FTL, pretty much every MMO, RTS, Flash game, browser based games, and the like to revel in.

Ubisoft's screwups, AC3

 

Assassin's Creed 3 PC port is a giant piece of shit.

 

Forced Vsync? Why? All it does for me is create stupid amounts of input lag, and it actually made the framerate tank EVERYWHERE. I turned it off in the .ini and the game runs a lot smoother, 60+ fps on my now pretty outdated gaming rig. Upgrading to a 2500k soon, if only I had enough for a 670, or even a delicious 680...

Can you even turn off the AA? I didn't give it much thought because the in game setting "Normal" does not mean ON or OFF.

Mouse acceleration!? Mice are not analog sticks! They're for precision and mouse acceleration destroys any thought of having short, fast, precise movements. We've told you time and time again, Ubisoft. Stop with the fucking mouse acceleration shit.

We're also limited to fullscreen all the time. How does that sound? Can't alt-tab to check skype or whatever without it minimizing. A smaller complaint, but one nonetheless.

Opinions are dangerous things..

And mine make people question themselves. My opinions are usually formed from first hand experience, such as playing a game that everyone loves or whatever, and I find faults in the game. Faults that people just pass off as some small overlooked bug. But I extract the facts about said faults.

Perhaps some of you will share these opinions of mine, others will hate them, but I don't care, this is a place to vent... and make money from adsense.

For instance, I really hate Ubisoft now. Their ports are shit and their DRM is abysmal. "Oh but Steam is DRM!" Yes, so? I never said I hate DRM, I said Ubisoft's is terrible. I rarely have problems with Steam, so I have no qualms with it. I'm a bit of a sales addict, but it's hard not to be when there are sales for 50-75% off on some really cool games.
