Console Fanboys

As a warning, I'm going to say that this might turn into a rant about consoles in general. But be reasonable! They're easy targets!

Average fanboy
These are the kinds of people that, no matter how much logic you throw at them, they believe what they want.

The type of person who always believe theirs is better than anything else.

The type of person that never studies the competition.

The type of person who brushes away facts as if they were dust on their shirt.

Console fanboys.

We've all encountered them if you looked at the comments section on a video about any game that's multiplatform. Their presence is particularly strong in videos of games that are exclusive to one console, such as Halo or Gears of War, Killzone or Little Big Planet.

The Xbox fanboys would say things like "HAH WE HAVE HALO BITCHES."
The PS3 fanboys would respond with things like "ENJOY YOUR NOT FREE ONLINE, DOUCHEBAGS"
And it would continue on until someone butts in calling someone's mom fat through the use of your mom jokes. I'm not sure if the Wii has fanboys, but if it does, they aren't all that vocal.

I do not have a console, I have not owned the latest thing for a few years. I don't really count the Vita as a console, in my opinion, considering it's a handheld.

Fanboys against PC gaming say shit like "oh it's so expensive, have fun spending money!" But I don't think they realize that that's just for enthusiast builds, high end builds, and so on. I've built people computers that can run the latest shit with at least 30 fps (which is what the majority of console games are locked into, by the way) at a decent resolution: larger than 720p, for about $400. Guess what it can do? It can play games. It can also do everything else computers can do, why? Because it's a computer. Your console can do what, exactly? Play games and watch Netflix.

So much for utility.

And they also say things like their console plays games better than their computer. I've come to find out that when they say that, most of them mean their ~$200 netbook they got 4 years ago. Derp!

Allow me to lay some knowledge on you...
Consoles:
  • Narrow FoV for most FPS games (CoD BlOps 2 has 65 as opposed to the normal 90 that PC games have, that's an entire 25 more degrees!)
  • Have an extremely limited framerate, only 30 in the majority of big games
  • Can not play in 1080p, only 720p
  • Have a much more limited selection of genres (No exclusive MMOs, like 2 RTSs, no DOTA style games, etc)
  • The games can not be nearly as complex without requiring extra peripherals (Original Steel Battalion, anyone?)
  • Can not have the precision a mouse offers
  • Are extremely costly to develop for, that's why updates are not nearly as common as PC versions unless the devs don't care about the PC versions (Skyrim, PC users are getting shafted for DLC, though not as hard as PS3 users)
  • Have not come out with a new generation of consoles for SEVEN. YEARS. 7 years! Gonna be going on 8 soon!
  • Are relatively inexpensive
  • Are easy to get into (pop game in and play)
And PCs:
  • Are expensive if you want the full experience
  • Can use console controllers
  • Extremely customizable
  • Allow for resolutions larger than 1080p
  • (obligatory graphics are better than yours)
  • Have mods
  • Have more genres
  • Free games!
  • Much easier to develop for if you have a tight budget
  • Unfortunately have more hackers
Don't give me that shit about viruses, don't be an assface and you'll stay virus free for years. It's really not that hard.

If you thought this was unfair, don't worry, a rant about PC elitist tards is coming next!

  1. I find that console players are uncompetitive. When they play twitch shooters, they get away with tactics that wouldn't work because of player handicaps like turning speed. Even those using mods to play with mice opt for rushing forward and never checking corners. Watch a console player play an FPS game on Youtube. It's underwhelming.
